Thanks for dropping by! I’m James, aka JT Mather. Where to begin… born during the scorchingly hot summer of 1976, I’ve been a resident of Nottingham (in the UK) for over 40 years.

By day, I work with various clients as a creative artworker, producing anything from stationery to display units for international exhibitions. The tools of my trade are Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator, all of which come in very handy when developing my own publications.

The lockdown of 2020 allowed me the time to really knuckle down and complete my first ever YA story; Spectre of Destiny. This was my initial self published offering, with the sequel—Dawn of Desolation—coming soon after. Both have received encouraging feedback, making the entire process extremely worthwhile. Bringing enjoyment and a little escapism has always been the aim from the start.

I am continually developing ideas for further adventures in the veiled realm of Karadas, while also penning a new YA sci-fi story that I hope to publish in the near future. Watch this space!

As well as creative writing—and being a huge Nottingham Forest fan—I enjoy exploring the countryside with family and friends, five-a-side football, padel tennis, and a round of crazy golf when time allows. Insects hold a curious fascination for me (except wasps; awful things) and I’m the proud owner of a small ant farm. Incredibly, they remain alive after 2 years in my care!
