1911 was a devastating year for young siblings, Minnie and Theodore Reed. To lose one parent to illness at such a tender age seems a cruel twist of fate. To lose both is downright callous.

1912 looks to be equally dreadful.

Twelve-year-old Minnie—and her older brother by a single year—had no say in the decision; to be uprooted from their home and promptly shipped away to live with their spiteful aunt in a distant country. Cordelia would rather the pair simply vanish, and in little time at all, she finds her self-serving wish granted.

The two orphans now find themselves in a sticky situation to say the least!

An exhilarating adventure begins upon the wind-swept waves of the Atlantic Ocean, where Minnie and Theodore find themselves trapped on a wayward lifeboat, threatened by the freezing conditions, and lashed by the appalling weather. But as perilous as the situation appears, the trials that await the youngsters on the uncharted shores of Karadas will elevate their terror to a whole new level.

Not all is lost, however, and while Karadas is unquestionably fraught with danger and brimming with vile beasts, help is at hand. With his sister missing and all alone, Theodore befriends Zilic; a slight but highly gifted warrior to aid in his quest.

The children are desperate to return to their old life in England, but are they willing to risk everything to make the dream a reality?
